Description
A true piece of Dior archive history. This 1970s–80s frame clutch is cut from the house's iconic navy Trotter jacquard canvas, the monogram that came before the Oblique revival, and trimmed in smooth navy leather piping. A slim gold-tone kiss-lock frame with a push-tab closure opens to a fully leather-lined navy interior, heat-stamped "Christian Dior Made in France" in gold. The front is finished with the signature enamel-filled Dior shield plaque. It's slim enough to tuck under your arm with jeans and a blazer, and polished enough for dinner.
Condition
Very good vintage condition. The inner edges of the frame show plating wear and light tarnish, visible only when open. There's a small scuff to the leather piping at the lower back corner and a tiny mark at the base of one side gusset. The Dior shield has light surface scratches from age, and the enamel lettering is intact. The canvas is clean and vibrant, with no fraying, holes, or stains. The interior leather shows light scuffing and minor lint consistent with age. The frame closes securely, and the clasp works as it should.
